and been built into my house

I purchased a new computer. The main issue that worried me about my old one was that it had issues starting up and had been reformatted. It would take several attempts at restarting to load properly. The slow speed I could deal with but that issue worried me since my sister had the same issue and, in the end, it refused to load after a few months.

Moving on. The specs of my new computer.

HP a6720f PC

AMD Phenom X4 9550 Processor
6GB Memory
640GB Hard Drive

I didn’t get top of the line since I always find that so pointless. It was on sale at Fry’s Electronics so it wasn’t beyond my means. I’ve gotten everything working and got GIMP instead of Photoshop. Everything is running smoothly now. I’m so happy with it! :D

  1. Wow, 640GB for your hard drive! :o Here at home, we use a family computer, and it’s only 8GB. Must be lightning fast. X3

Is Gimp any good? :o I’ve never really tried it.

    • It’s awesomely fast. Only real time it was slow was when I installed a conflicting driver. :O

I haven’t used GIMP too extensively yet so I can’t really say. It has a lot of the same things Photoshop has and the few things I’ve done with it have been accomplished pretty easily once I figured out what buttons did what.

  2. EEEK! Your sisters computer gave up in the end?! My computer have serious issues starting up and it would be horrible if it died! O_O

6GB Memory and 640GB Hard Drive sounds awesome! I wish my computer had half that capacity!

    • Yes, it did. She never got it checked out, though, or tried to fix it. I don’t know, just knowing that it had a similar problem to mine made me paranoid.

Definitely awesome. <3 I thought I’d hate Vista but it’s not bad so far.
