My sister called 911 on Friday because my mother was in a lot of pain, so much she was throwing up. She was in the ER for a bit, then was sent home (cheap bastards) and told to go to an urgent care. Then on Saturday my father took her to a different hospital and she has been there ever since. She had surgery this morning. She’s supposed to be there for a couple more days if she continues to get better.
It’s horrible seeing my usually active mother this way. Seeing her after the surgery was hard, I’ve never seen her so helpless. She couldn’t even drink water, somebody has to get something, moisten it, and put it into her mouth. She was running a fever when I left and I hope it’s just the usual after-surgery shock to the body and not a sign of something more serious.
There was no Easter (definitely not, since she can’t be a part of it).
Let’s wish for a speedy recovery for her.
