mother in the hospital

My sister called 911 on Friday because my mother was in a lot of pain, so much she was throwing up. She was in the ER for a bit, then was sent home (cheap bastards) and told to go to an urgent care. Then on Saturday my father took her to a different hospital and she has been there ever since. She had surgery this morning. She’s supposed to be there for a couple more days if she continues to get better.

It’s horrible seeing my usually active mother this way. Seeing her after the surgery was hard, I’ve never seen her so helpless. She couldn’t even drink water, somebody has to get something, moisten it, and put it into her mouth. She was running a fever when I left and I hope it’s just the usual after-surgery shock to the body and not a sign of something more serious.

There was no Easter (definitely not, since she can’t be a part of it).

Let’s wish for a speedy recovery for her. :)

  1. Sorry about what happened to your mom and I really hope she’ll get better soon. My mom’s very active for her age, too. Even more active than I am. I couldn’t imagine her feeling helpless and all :s I’ll pray for your mom’s speedy recovery.

    • I hope so, too. She’s going to be staying a little longer than first expected, it seems. My mom is light years ahead of me in being active. She works out nearly every day, ran a 5k a couple months ago, and plans to run a 10k.

      Thanks. <3

    • My mom’s waaay more active than I am as well and she plays badminton more regularly than I do. Supermom, I must say. Which is why i’m worried coz I hope she doesn’t get burned out in the future :s

  2. Gabrielle, I hope everything goes alright for your mother. :( Best wishes for your family in this time!

  3. I hope your mum gets better soon. I cant believe one hospital sent her home, but another gave her surgery.

    • Yes, it’s unbelievable that they did that. She could have died.

School went well. Tomorrow is the third week. Have to study some more because we’re having a quiz!
